Welcome Back in Ottawa

Always good. I've been going there for years and I've never had a bad meal. The waitress is amazing, she's alone no matter how busy it gets, she doesn't write anything down and never forgets. She also answers the phone and does the cash/payment. The everready bunny is what I call her. She's also very friendly. Worth a visit for sure.

Always like to eat here. Kind of old school Chinese and Asian food but very healthy and great portions. One of the best values for the money in my opinion.

Disappointed in the food. We ordered the beef chow mein,lemon chicken,and crispy beef. The chow mein had zero noodles and mainly bean sprouts with literally 6 pieces of beef. The batter was tasty for the chicken but the sauce was very tangy. Not to our liking. May be a preference thing. As for the crispy beef I found it tasty as I don't mind ginger but my wife 100% dislikes any hint of ginger. The description says crispy beef fried with garlic sauce and green peppers. No where does it say and ginger. I tried to call to ask questions about the order e.g.ginger, noodles...and it was perceived that I was calling to place an order rather than any resolve about if what we received was what we actually ordered. On top of it, NO fortune cookies :(

Decent restaurant suitable for the non-Asian clientele. Don't look for more sophisticated Chinese food here.

Very calm environment the server is usually very nice and quick and well cooked food always also good prices for amount of food you get :)

The food was pretty bland and a bit overcooked. It's typical western Chinese food. If you like Chinese buffet style dishes you'll probably like this. I tried a few dishes that were labeled spicy but they were more sweet than spicy... The woman who owns the place is very nice and does a great job, memorizes orders without writing it down .

I love the food here. Fresh and not expensive. Service was excellent.

A family run Chinese restaurant, they serve typical Canadian style Chinese food. The prices are in line with their competitors. It depends what you like but, I'd rate their food little better than the average Chinese food restaurant in this area.

Very good food, excellent egg rolls ,very large plates of food ( more than I can eat) left overs are good.

Very bad customer service and kind of racist and bad attitude.Worst customer service ever. The lady makes you feel like you are doing something wrong buying food in this restaurant. She shows not respect and appreciation to the customers even if those are thirsty children lining up for water because she did not dare to offer something to drink . As a matter of fact , her father had to stand up because she ignored his little one.

This restaurant has been around selling Chinese food for more than 30 years. Enough said

They have a big size dishes and affordable, keep in mind that they have a Cantonese food style. Misses some dumplings and dim sum.

I've only done takeout here but the food is ready quickly and is hot! Tasty.

We went for authentic North American Chinese food and that is what we got - done to perfection. As said by another reviewer, the Tao's is crispy and well coated with sauce but not soggy, the Singapore fried noodles had a little kick and had proper shrimp and good sized chunks of bbq pork , the pork with vegetables had lots of both - the veggies were cooked perfectly to tender crisp. The egg rolls - open ended and unlike some sprout stuffed offerings, you could actually see and taste the pork - very very good.We did not try any of the more "exotic offerings" as that is not what we were there for - we'll have to try them next time. If you are looking for retro-Chinese food done right at a good price, this is the place.

A typical Canadian type Chinese food place. It was quite busy and they only had one server on The Egg rolls were decent . The main plate was a Combo 4. Chicken Balls, Fried Rice and spare ribs. The chicken Balls were good, large as well. The spare ribs were large and tasty. The chicken fried rice had a different taste, not bad, but not my favoriteI will go back. Fair rating would be 3.5

Best hot and sour soup in Ottawa and area. Food hit and tasty. Good value.

This restaurant wears its name very well. The service is impeccable and the food is delicious... and all that wrapped up in an affordable price. Who can ask for more. Way to go!

Surprisingly delicious chinese food. The name deterred me a few weeks from trying it but once I did it was fantastic. The two ladies there were so nice and polite. They dont do delivery but it is worth the try to go pick it up. I'm not a huge fan of the Chinese food I've experienced in Ottawa but this place is probably my favourite so far.

LOVE IT! been going for 15 years, and now that I moved in the east en I still drive the 14km to get it because the taste is excellent and prices one of the best in Ottawa. Like the other reviewer, the name deterred me for some reason.... but after hearing from a friend that it was good I tried it. Their egg rolls have improved and it's still the same, don't think the décor has changed in 30 years, but hey, it's kitch, and I come for the food. It's too bad they don't deliver, but worth it to pick it up, and wish they were open on holidays. It may not be like the Mandarin in Ottawa, but it's way more affordable, and delicious.....better than most other restaurants I've tried, in the east and west end.

My family and I have been enjoying Chinese take out from here for almost ten years. It never disappoints. Though Chinese food is always pricier than pizza or burgers, Welcome Back’s egg rolls and almond guy ding are the best we’ve ever tasted - totally worth it! No delivery service can be inconvenient but the kids will go out of their way to pick up for us. Yup, it’s that good.

Best Chinese takeout in the west end for sure. Service is great, and I've never had it take more than 15-20 minutes to be ready. Super good value.

Food was mediocre at best and then gave me food poisoning the next day! Not happy! I had to call in sick to work!

I have been eating there for approximately 13 years at least 4 to 5times a year. Food is great portion sizes are huge egg rolls are the best and the service can't be beat. Great place great food great service

Longtime family favourite. Standard Canadian Chinese fare. Good prices, open ended egg rolls are very good. Love the horoscope placemats.

I'm torn about this place. It came highly recommended. The food was really fresh although some of the dishes were overwhelmed by celery. Loads of celery. The service is fast and efficient. We just found it not very flavorful. It's very Canadian Chinese food if that makes sense. The chicken balls were excellent with light breading and lots of chicken. If the flavors were amped up we would go again but just not the place for us.

Cheap Chinese food

My family has been going there for decades . I hope it's there for decades to come . The staff are always great , the food is fantastic . I will keep going back as long as they are around .

Super fresh food, reasonably-priced, and lovely staff!

Really good, really fast, not really expensive.Shanghai fried noodles were a new dish to me. Tasted rich and delicious. General Tso was not spicy but was a really good piece of chicken in a sweet sauce. The egg rolls were one of the best I've had. Almond chicken soo guy was excellent as well.Overall great food and I will definitely be back.

Absolutely love this gem ! I go whenever I am in the area. Heads up... general toa chicken is crispy and awesome then put sauce. It's not drowning or overpowering , just perfect. Best egg rolls too. What's not to love. Portion size and prices are perfect !

A group of ten family members went for dinner. Everyone could order their favorite combo plates. Some if the best egg rolls in town. Great food and atmosphere. With a group that size , reservation recommended. Service was great.

Great food great service. I would give 5 stars for updated dining room and delivery. Reasonable price and intimate size are a plus. Free parking and location are great for people commuting from Kanata and Stiittsville on your way home. Call your order in and pick it up at Robertson and MOODIE.

The service was great, good jazmín tea but the food even when looked alright it was unpleasant, the taste was bitter not nice not tasty. We ordered from the Cantonese section; I ordered noodles with shrimp, chicken and mushrooms and he ordered pineapple chicken , neither was satisfied.Maybe we should have ordered just the fried rice.
